how can i lower my cpu usage, constantly at 50%+

I too have dharvey's rom (2.5 for VZW) and it's constantly at around 35% when nothing is going on. The previous incarnation was usually around 45%, so I'm happier, but I'd like to know what most people think is normal.

I'm running OMJs custom rom, and MusicFlo in replace of BioTouch (runs in place of original cube). On dotFred task manager, my idle process is 87% of CPU; dotFred TM takes up 11%, biotouch 1%, AEBPlus 0.01% and shell32 up to 0.5%. So when I've got my task manager closed, I'm pretty darn close to CPU usage of 3%.

Note: I've got location and time synching disabled, autoupdate is turned off on my weather page. And yeah, my battery life is pretty darn good, not to brag. Ok, so that was bragging. Sorry

i think people are confusing the % that the htc task manager gives you....it shows mem usage not CPU usage...that is usually around 30% or so with nothing running....CPU usage you can see by using dotfred's task manager...these are 2 separate thing...my actual CPU usage with dotfred running is about 12% so without it it's like 3% max(with nothing else running)

i though it shows cpu usage because when i close programs it goes down a bit?

cause programs use memory so when you close on you mem usage goes down
