Listen I have my touch now for a year+... Wore the screen protector for the first month or so but couldn't stand the lack of touch sensitivity... I decided to remove it and it has been great ever since.. Not a single scratch...
Also remember that Protectors scratch much easier cuz they are plastic and a cheap one at that...But the screens are some sort of tempered glass that resists scratches...
Like I said over a year without one and not a single scratch yet...

Are you sure "the screens are some sort of tempered glass that resists scratches"? I thought our vogues had resistive touchscreens, which would require a flexible screen cover. Tempered glass is certainly not flexible. In any case, I am still using the one that came in the box since Nov. I just developed an annoying scratch near the screen center and am certainly glad I have the protector on. If anyone still has an OEM one and don't want it any more, I would be glad to take it off your hands.

I don't use a screen protector. Have my touchflo sensitivity at 50000, so very little pressure to use it. Have had it for two weeks, still new looking. I just hate the feel of the extra something between my finger and the screen. Yeah, I know it'll wear faster, but I take extremely good care of my phones and expect it to last me a few years as is.

I don't know if its just me being clumsy but I can never get the protector on there SPOTLESS. There's always bubbles or little bit of dust or fingerprint whatever once I get it on. Then I Finally gave up and went w/o one.

The only time I got a dust free install was when I sent my iPaq to Pocket PC Techs and had them do it! It was perfect. I think you need to create a dust free space somehow to get it done.

Why would you not protect your $550 investment. I have a screen protector and a carbon fiber case on the outside of mine. It looks great.

Just got my invisibleShield today. Got the full body but only going to install the screen. I have to agree, spending that much money on something that you can keep looking good for 10th the price.... why not?

the invisable shield works great iv had it for 2 months and no scratchs what so ever i even tried sliceing it with a knife i gotta say its the best screen protector out there and it comes with a lifetime waranty you cant beat that

Well I got my Touch used for $170, just for beating up and learning to load rom etc. I considered getting a case but then thought it would get in the way of pressing buttons (like the X on the upper right corner) since I got somewhat large fingers.

I use the in box protector. I just kinda haphazardly put it on my Touch, after I dropped it into a pile of lint. I've taken the screen protector off and washed it, cool blow dry it, then carefully apply it ..
but yeah, there're always the annoying specs of dust right in the center of the screen that draw your attention like Christina Ricci's boobs. I just can't stop focusing directly on them.

what's the best thin rubber case?
