Vogue newbie (? regarding cube, auto-rotate, etc...)

Ok, got my HTC Touch thru Alltel yesterday. Already upgrade to latest ROM and have the GPS activated and working (whew!).

I really find the cube useless, I've read and seen posts about alternatives, can anyone give me some information on these or point me to be 'best' replacement?

Also, is there a way to get my screen to auto-rotate to landscape mode when I turn the phone on it's side. It looks like this guy was able to do it.

Finally, Pocket IE renders pages worse than I could draw them out by looking at the source. Is Opera any better?

Thanks

I am pretty sure you will not get it to switch from potrait to landscape by 'turning' the device. The iPhone has an accelerometer (sp?) that senses the motion, unfortunately the HTC does not have this functionality.

You should be able to remap the 'camera' key to do this, a lot of users change the single press to switch to landscape and back, and change the press and hold to activate the camera. Good luck!

That solution works for me, and is pretty simple.

I just saw that cube sticky, but would still like more information on which custom cube is the 'best'.

Also, looking for comments on Opera rendering...

The guy says he has it mapped to his camera key. So it's not that the camera is actually looking at the difference and changing it, it's just a button that he is pressing to make it change to landscape.
