Re: I fixed it!

I chose to use Vista.. My comp is good enough that it runs it without problems so I chose it because I got tired of XP and wanted a change ... I am running Vista Ultimate so I have a lot of things I can do.. I have thought about going back to XP but I have used about 150gb of my 250gb hard drive and I dont want to back all that up.

Re: I fixed it!

Vista, has no problems all the bashing on Vista when 99% of the time the problem is either PEBKAC, configurations of VIsta, or software incompatability which is expected with any new software. I have been running VIsta since Alpha and now with SP1. I have no problems with 32 or 64bit versions. I also have no problems flashing from Vista I had to do some configurations but it works fine.

Re: I fixed it!

Maybe it is because it is on a laptop? The XP I used was a desktop. I have no idea if that makes a difference.

Re: I fixed it!

Keep in mind that Vista had to re-release a 2nd generation of the OS because of all the defects so for some people, like me, stuck with the 1st Gen it sucks.

Re: I fixed it!

I'm running Vista SP1 on my laptop and have never had trouble with flashing ROMs on my phone with it. It works just as good as my gf's laptop with XP.

About the Vista bashing, I used to bash it too. I was in the beta program and started with the 64 bit Vista, which was a bit frustrating because there were no drivers for any of the things I really needed. I switched to the 32 bit and it was ok, but after the official release (with SP1) came out, I have not had one single gripe about Vista at all. I actually like it a lot better than XP.

The same thing happened when XP came out. Everyone bashed it, now they swear by it. People will swear by Vista when the next OS comes out from MS. lol

Re: I fixed it!

Vista did not release a second gen it is a service pack, which all microsoft os's have since nt win 95 officialy called a SP starting with NT 4.0. Every large software development has to have updates released because there is always bugs in them.

Re: I fixed it!

I have had no probs with Vista either....unlocked and then flashed the phone 3 times now.

I do remember reading somewhere on here though that you may have to right-click and "Run as Administrator" with Vista. I don't know if that has to do with permissions or whatever, but perhaps that would work out for you next time.
