Not able to connect on Alltel

I updated my rom/radio to the new alltel rom on HTC's website http://www.htc.com/us/FAQ_Detail.aspx?p_id=64&act=sd
My device info looks identical to what the website shows.

I am able to make calls and send text. But I cannot connect to the data network. I've talked to data support all morning,

*228 didn't work and neither did ##000000

They just determined there was just something wrong with the phone and I need to make a warranty claim.. Is there anyone who has had this problem and fixed it?

When you can't connect, does your EV symbol change to a 1X symbol? I'm not having this problem with my phone.

Everyone was fine, now all the sudden when I try to connect to #777, it says failed and my EV icon at the top changes to 1X and I have no data connection.

In addition, the Data Connection in my Comm Manager is greyed out.

After i flashed my phone the Ev icon was there but after i tried to connect to #777 it did change to 1X and didnt change back, and yes also my data connection is grayed out in the comm manager.

Kader, I'm having the same issue. Mine was working earlier, just started screwing up in the last hour... I'm confused but trying to work around it. If not, I'll take it back to Alltel, I did not unlock it, only ran the ROM upgrade from the HTC site which shouldn't be illegal. :P

Kader, I tried running PPST, then doing a *228 and updating my roaming (2), then doing a *228 to activate (3). Upon restart phone does the same thing, acts like its trying to connect to #777, fails, then my EV symbol changes to 1X and I get a message...

Well i unlocked it and i cant find anyone else here with the same problem, funny thing is if i keep it pluged in to the pc i can connect fine. Let me know if you get it fixed.

What do you mean by work fine when plugged into the PC? Internet Connection Sharing? Cause I tried that and it failed as well. Have you tried calling Alltel?
