Vogue + cad radio issue

Ok here is my problem :

my cd player in my car has a 2.5mm headphone jack as show in this picture.

i purchased a mini-usb to 2.5mm female headphone adapter, then a 1.5ft 2.5mm male-male cable, plugged it in to my phone and the other end into the cd player. I made sure my cd player was set to "aux1" and tried to play music over my cad radio from my phone. when i play music i only get sound coming out of the phone...nothing comes out of the car radio. please note, i tried "aux2" and "aux3" as well just to see if maybe i was on the wrong channel... am i doing something wrong? or is there something i have to do on the phone to make it play thru into the radio?

any assistance would be much appreciated. thanks.

You must use the mini USB headphone adapter that HTC provided with the phone, it is different than a USB mini off the shelf.

i was able to get the sound working on an aftermarket one but i think the little connection points on the 3.5mm plug are different then the 6900's so what i had to do was actually just plug the adapter in part of the way... or push it in all the way and pull it out a bit till the sound came back....

once i figured out where it was i slipped a small sized nut over the plug and glued it, so now i push it in all the way and its where its supposed to be.

yea i tried using mini usb adapter from radioshack, does not work, need the usb adapter that comes with phone.

yeah my phone did not come with an adapter either.
