Notification display on screen

I see a lot of people asking how to disable the notification and such, but I want the little window that pops up to stay up for a longer period of time. It seems that by the time I get to it and read the message, the box goes away. I'd like it to stay on the screen until I want it to go (by responding, or saving as read and such).

Any way to do this?

Re: Notification display on screen

When the notification message box goes away on my Sprint Touch, it sort of collapses, shrinking toward the bottom left softkey, which then changes its name to Notification. Tapping it brings the message pop-up back. (Don't know what happens if more than 1 notification piles up, though. That's not happened to me yet. Oh, and the shrinking/collapsing may all be just in my head!)

Re: Notification display on screen

Yeah, it does that, but I want it to stay open. When two messages come, the box reads, "you have two new messages" or something to that affect. I just want that box to stay open long enough for me to pull the phone out of my pocket, read the message, and decide to reply, or do a save as read.

Maybe a reg hack that increases the amount of time. I think it's 15 seconds that it stays open now. Maybe there's some place that I can just change it to 30 seconds or something? There's got to be something telling it to stay open for a certain amount of time...

If you get the WM6.1 update from HTC, you don't get it anymore, if you have Sprint

Re: Notification display on screen

It's not that I want a reminder for it, cause I know it's there. It's that I want more time to be able to respond to it.

It also looks like S2U2 locks the device a little too quickly for me after a message. Is there a way to increase the time on this as well?

Go into the S2U2 settings and change the timeout setting.

I am having a similar problem (I think), in that my after the notification shrinks down to the lower left soft key it alternates between flashing "Notification" and "Contacts". The problem is, it flashes the "Notification" too fast. I sit there and see how fast I can hit the button over and over until I get lucky to get rid of the notice! If it is a notice for a missed message/call etc., it isn't a problem because I can can click on the corresponding program to disable, but if it is a reminder for a calender item, I can't get rid of it unless I catch it on the right click. Any way to alter this? I am running Sprint stock rom 6.0...and S2U2 if that affects it. Thanks for any ideas.

Re: Notification display on screen

I found this excellent utility for removing unwanted notification messages that pop up.
Example, after I installed both variations of the TomTom7 and GPS related software.
ttgpseng.exe notification error would pop up.
This utility got rid of it.
