Re: How Do I remove pre-installed Programs
Just find the cab for the program you want to uninstall, and install it again. It will rewrite over the old install and show up on the Remove Programs List. And then, just Uninstall, and everything will be gone! Good Luck.

Re: How Do I remove pre-installed Programs
I tried that with the iContact. I installed a new .cab, and it showed in the remove programs. I chose to un-install, but still have it on my phone. There are games and other stuff I would also like to get rid of.
Thanks for the help |

Re: How Do I remove pre-installed Programs
I don't have the touch, but typically if you do a hard-reset, let it boot, but when the customization screen shows (3...2...1...) pull the battery or soft-reset before it hits 1.
you should have a basic rom.

Re: How Do I remove pre-installed Programs
The programs are in the actual Custom ROM not in the customizations.
Have you tried installing the upgraded version of iContacts? If all else fails, your gonna have to fine a clean rom of your choice and then add to it, or build your own ROM in your Kitchen of choice. |

I tried to install a new iContacts. And I figured I would have to install a clean ROM to get rid of some of the stuff. The thing is, some stuff I want to keep, but don't know where to download it from. Is there a way to save the ones I want? |

Re: How Do I remove pre-installed Programs
That is why I always flash clean custom roms, with no other apps in them. There is absolutely a way to uninstall these, even though they are within the rom, but it is not easy, not guaranteed to work, and can put you in a position that you need to do a hard reset. I remember reading a tutorial over at XDA (I think?) a few months ago and most suggest to not even try it.

Re: How Do I remove pre-installed Programs
Use a file manager like Total Commander and delete the icons in windows/programs. It's not exactly an uninstall but they will be gone from the programs list. I did that with the bluetooth file thing, since I don't use it. Quick and dirty, but it works without the problems associated with removing the programs.
