Email Setup Help Needed

I set up my email accounts with gmail and hotmail and they work fine. My problem is when I press the mail icon on the home screen it opens up to the text messaging screen. How do I change it so it opens up to Gmail, Hotmail and Text?

This will make a short cut to the gmail, Hope that helps
