NexVision's Throttle Manila

TO USE THIS ROM YOU MUST BE UNLOCKED WITH COKE 2.31 AND HAVE 3.35+ RADIO REV. IF NONE OF THAT MAKES SENSE TO YOU I SUGGEST YOU GO DO SOME READING BEFORE TRYING.

This ROM is a mix of many things.

System files - 20226 with parts of 19588
XIP - 20262 - ported by lennysh

Main APP - Throttle .92 http://www.throttlelauncher.com/portal/

This app has gone thru many stages to get to where it is at and while I did not always use it I have always followed the production of it as it speaks proportions about what is possible. If you enjoy this ROM I highly recommend donating to the author https://www.paypal.com/es/cgi-bin/we...cfc023d4e8f9e5
as he does go above an beyond to work out every kink he can.

AFTER INSTALL AND CALIBRATION U MUST REBOOT DEVICE BEFORE IT WILL BE FULLY FUNCTIONAL!!!

USE AT OWN RISK

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To configure settings in throttle hold your finger on the bottom bar till you get to the COG/settings then go to TouchFLO3D and tab thru...

To save your settings for future use you will need 2 files vars.xml can be found here \Program Files\ThrottleLauncher\Setups\Touchflo3d
and you also need apps.xml which can be found here \Program Files\ThrottleLauncher\AppDB

I plan on building to default location to allow easier backups and upgrades..

Help available in chat if needed.

Just a reminder guys dont forget you can make your own ROMS with many of the OEM's I used here some will be coming in next update if not all..

You do realize this is for a Vogue/6900 right. You need a RUU directory you can use the Upgrades directory installed by buildos.

Re: NexVision's Manila

My first impressions of this rom are good. GPS locks on quick, and my REV-A speeds are (as usual) twice what I get on other ROMS. But - the UI seems to be really buggy and laggy. Throttle is a good looking app, but it is constantly freezing and giving me errors to restart the program. Also - the top bar is not black, it is blue, and I can't change it... I know that's minor - but it looks kinda funny with the clean black manilla theme. Once i figure out how to tweak throttle i think it will be fine though. I will post more updates and test results in the morning.

Yeah - i did a hard reset after initial flash, but then did an additional hard reset followed by a soft reset after boot up and seems to be better. Thanks for the help and hard work - i'll be buying you another beer this week!

Hello NexVision, Good to see your still cranking out roms. I have flashed your Bell rom(hulk) 4 or 5 times so far. I have tried many others and then flashed back to your rom. I really like everything about it, specially the s2u2 and Ultimate Launcher.

From the screen shoots I seen I think I prefer UL over ThrottleLauncher, any reason why you didn't use UL for this version.

I don't know why every rom I have tried so far the gps seems to flake out after awhile, I have to run PPST.exe to get locks half the time, does this rom improve gps at all?

I wonder if you can high lite the main improvements to this rom over the Hulk Versions. I guess I just haven't seen enough reason to flash this rom yet.

I will most likely be putting up a new UL ROM this week this is a nice peak of some of what the device is capable of as well as a killer look with tons of customization. I myself am more of a need it now type of person and personally love the UL based one I have if I have time tom I will get it up if your someone who doesn't mind flashing I would highly highly recommend giving this a try if even just for a couple hours it's highly worth it.

Re: NexVision's Manila

I looked a little more at Throttle Launcher and it incorporates the touchflo cube, I am using MacFlo and I like it, kinda flashy but I like the idea that the cube is on the same theme as the main user interface. I think I saw that Throttle Launcher has its own weather app, if so, have you tried it and how does it compare to WeatherPanel, I like how with a couple of thumb swips I can have nice weather interface including traffic cams.

Man this phone is taking lots of my time, up to days for setting everything after a new flash, hehehe, truely amazing what you can wear on your hip in one device.

Hey just flashed this rom and gotta say that its pretty cool. I like all the customization and some of the programs you have on there are very cool (def have never seen some of them). However, right now it seems a bit slow so I think I will switch back to my other rom. Like you said tho, it was well worth it to see it on there for a couple hours at least to play with. Gave me some good ideas too!

cheers

edit: Im sure this has been asked before and I know Ive actually seen the answer (cant find it right now)... how do we change the startup screen to not have the ppcgeeks/ppckitchen startup image? thanks!

Re: NexVision's Throttle Manila

NexVision, I really love the ROM especially the interface, but I have to say that is a bit slow, it froze up on me 3 times in an hour. The only mode I did to the ROM was to up the PP to 18, was that my downfall?

Yup u didnt up anything you lowered the PP from 24 to 18. Generally when someone makes a jam packed rom and they set the PP where they do its cause theyve done testing and gotten the best results with that. Just a rule of thumb just cause u can change something doesnt mean u should especially when u havent tried it and have no real grasp of what it does.
