An awesome ROM, get to try tons of stuff.

That said, it has a tendency to get very laggy... so far I'm just running the stock rom, no add-ons or PP modifications. Do you think future releases will run any snappier?

As I side note, I love the memory increase of my new vogue compared to my old hermes. There's no way I could have had this sort of variety on my old phone.

Just a rule of thumb just cause u can change something doesnt mean u should especially when u havent tried it and have no real grasp of what it does.

NexVision, sorry I wasn't trying to offend you, I will reflash your ROM with the default setting.

Again I love the work you have done with the ROM will let you know if I have any other issues.

You didn't really offend me but your statement was just unfounded that you raised the PP to 18 just curious what u used to raise it that it showed 18 was going up.

He probably used PagePool Changer. Its a simple utility that allows you to change the pagepool of the RUU_signed.nbh file before flashing.

Looks like I started a trend.

Very nice looking ROM my friend. :headbang:

Hey Nex - so far the rOM is really good. Only problems I'm seeing are - battery life is not too great. Drains pretty quick with minor use. Speed dial side of the cube doesn't work - at all. The Vista battery gauge is pretty accurate, but the battery gauge in the top bar is off by about 15%-20%. Other than that so far so good!

Yeah Ive been using pagepool changer forever but it shows you the current PP before u change anything so if he thought going from 24 to 18 was going up.. :silent: :silent:

great rom , i have a secong sprint touch that has a bad esn so i use that to test things out before going to production phone lol ...that being said .. love the look of the rom .. it is a bit slow at times here are the things ive seen.
1. green battery guage is off but by alot ... its constantly shows 99, when i press on it then goes into detail and shows correct .. in this case outside shows 99 and real is 82
2.in contacts theres no way to close out or minimise8 button comm manager it other than to hit the hard end ( red key) this still leaves the contacts in the top bar.
3. 8 button comm manager shows nothing for free ram, show stats , lock.
4. in settings backlight does not work .

other than that would just like to see maybe a few things taken out to increase speed .. beautiful rom though .. love the look ..

Not sure I understand and programs on the device does not affect speed unless u run em all at once.

in the settings section , the backlight button does nothing , does not change the back lighting ...

the other comment was base on the overall rom ... which is great but a bit slow ... keep up the good work ..

Re: NexVision's Throttle Manila

Whats the problem your having with the backlight? If it is not turning off make sure u go to the power tab and its checked to power off.

Pretty sweet ROM Nex....I just flashed this and its HOT. I have to say its the most unique and original ROM I've seen to date.

When I was looking at the screenies, I loved it. When I first flashed it, I hated it. Now that I've played with it since then and gotten more used to it...I am loving it again. I'm gonna keep it on for a few days and see how the battery is and how it operates on a day to day basis.

Great Work man!

Re: NexVision's Throttle Manila

NexVision, I don't know if it just me but I am getting lags on my internet connections, youtube runs smooth, mobile speed test is 1.67 megs, so I am thinking it is something like dns settings and another problem is poor sound quality on bluetooth. I have only run this rom a few hours but I have hard reset a few times with the same results.

EDIT: after more usage this morning the internet is working great, so I am thinking it was Bell doing work on there equipment as it was 3:00 in the morning. Sound on bluetooth seems better too after a couple more reboots.

I am going to try to load Ultimate Launcher next and see if I can configure that program to be like the HULK rom. From my experiance it seem this rom has to be rebooted a few times to run right, but it looks like a great rom in the works. I tried 4 different/latest roms last night and none gave me internet speeds anywhere near what this rom gives me, so far the best gps for me.

I have nothing but good things to say about NexVisions roms, very stable, the best startup screens, the most inovative UI. video looks great, if I say anything negitive about these roms it is more to help make it better. And on that note, Internet Explorer fonts look to small for me, is there anyway to increase the font size without increasing the whole page/picture size.

Note: I loaded this rom and GPS wasn't locking, so I ran the PPST BELL1.33 from NFSFAN and gps locked in 30 seconds, this phone has never done that before.

I'm assuming you are speaking of iContact and if so, I have to disagree with you. I have an OEM for iContact v.741 that has been modified for increased speed and closes(completely) when you click the top right hand corner or call or text someone.

PM me if you're interested.

Re: NexVision's Throttle Manila

The ROM is awesome, thank you for sharing the experiance! I have not had many issues and look forward to exploring all applications. At first, a couple of start-up issues with some applications, but after a couple of hard resets (2) I have not had further stat up issues. The clock problem fix worked for me also. With all the new gps apps, I was hesitant to install the GPSKICKSTART cab.. Under settings/connections there is a "GPS Router" app that appears to enable/disable the GPS and there is another GPS tool that has options for different chips (SiRF, Q 7200, Q 7500). I know there is another GPS forum, so I do not want to start that, I just want to know if you knew what chip set our Touch has? SiRF, Q 7200, or Q 7500?

nex... 2 questions?... would you be wary of flashing this from SD?... if not, is there a ppc app for 7zip compression?

edit: flashed from sd with no problems... was using .2 "official" rom and radio... thank go to gearjunkees for the nbh as no ppc 7z app was found.

what i find funny is that i am currently running on my main phone omj's most recent rom. runs great and fast ( faster than nex's ) but uses more memory and more space than nex's. So im wondering what it is that actually lags this rom because by all accounts it should be faster ...

im not knocking this effort at all , i love it and think its the best looking rom out there ... but the laggy thing baffles me ...

oh and i would like the cube to work since i use the contacts as favorites .. think its nce .

If you are talking about the lag on the home screen this is due to throttle being slow as its still in works.

AWESOME WORK NEX!

ya know what would really top throttle launcher off? The ability to swipe/gesture left and right in addition to using the bottom menu...

Nex, do you think you might swing together a rom with jdume's WAD2 diamond theme sometime in the future??

Cant say I have seen the theme though. I have made some adjustments as well as the creator and with his adjustments and mine it is now moving along quite nicely I might say speeds have increased and more fluid...

Will post v2 in a day or so depending on schedule.

2 Attachment(s)
i followed instructions on the previous page, i even tried it 3 times... still can't change weather's city... it can't be as easy as changing the name... is there somewhere i put a location code or zip code??? EDIT: after typing in my city, saving, then soft resetting, i clicked on the actual weather picture (the sun) and it changed and updated to my city.

and one more question nex, what opera mobile build is in here? EDIT: its build 1184 and its a lil jacked up... the bottom right menu button doesn't show "history" or words, just numbers like "<7745636>"... installed 1409 and now boot up screen is ALL CHOPPED UP lol.. but works great... check out the pic...

btw, how come with custom roms, opera has a problem minimizing? it always closes out... i like to keep the page i'm at for future viewing :(

Maybe u should look into it after he releases his v2... i believe he's waiting on the next release of WA2 which is supposedly real soon.

You have to go into the TouchFlo3D Setting nd change the email to read your account. it has to be the exact (case sensitive) name you use to identify the account. Then soft reset and it should work.

I'm just glad to see someone working on something like this. It looks awesome I flashed it testing it out, but I like my phone the way it is now, it would take to long to re-install everything. I know I'll have to flash at some point when the official GPS is completely released and I'm not planning to flash again till then. But when I do hopefully there's a build of this using it. Or the PPC Kitchen can make one just like this for myself.

It has to be the nickname you assigned to the account when you set it up. It is case sensitive. So if your email address is somebody@sprint.com for example, but you named it Sprint in pocket outlook - you would have to type "Sprint" in the TouchFLO3D settings page.

Re: NexVision's Throttle Manila

This might be an extremely stupid question, so I apologize in advance.

I was under the impression that a hard reset was going into settings/clear storage and entering "1,2,3,4" and then it would do a hard reset.

Is that not correct? The reason I asked is I am having issues with the ROM freezing, so I was going to do a hard reset(I forgot to do one when I installed the ROM) but I could not find the program in settings.

you can do a hard reset by holding the talk and end button and pressing the soft reset under the phone by the usb input..

your right about clear storage, but this might be even easier
