Radio version to get gps working

Hi,
I just have 2 noob questions. Also excuse in advance my english.

Just want to know, what is the minimum version of radio to get the gps working. Mine is a stock telus (radio 2.15.00) ? I see everywhere version 1.xx or 3.xx and nothing about 2.xx.

Also, everyone say that the gps is on the com4 but when i scan ports i have something on com5. what is it ?

You need minimum 3.xx radio. Don't know about the COM ports. Mine just works. You shouldn't have to do anythng to the COM ports to use GPS. But then again, I only use it with Google Maps. You can set your device to set GPS settings automatically. Then I just tell Google Maps to do the same.
