Thanks for the guidance and please excuse my ignorance here, but what should I be looking for? Also is this going to null out the gps or other capabilities on the phone?

Nex....I did the refurbish so now I'm on PRI 1.37_002. Is this going to affect performance for data transmission?

Re: XV6900 thinks it's roaming
hey guys, i have a similar problem... i have a Sprint phone that i got working on Verizon... and even went through the authenticate phone process with a verizon tech on the phone, it works on the network; i can send and recieve calls and text messages. But im stuck in roaming and i cant connect to data.
My PRI is 1.33, i didnt let ALLTELL do its thing. Until this post i was thinking about letting it, thinking that maybe that Alltells network is similar to Verizons and i would have better luck with an Alltell updated PRI then the existing PRI. But i dont think i'll be trying that. Any ideas? |

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=30109 To save you from going through the whole link here is the relevant part below: A member by the name of alcatec has given us information regarding a fix after an accidental sprint customization run. Heres how he did it. READ BEFORE ATTEMPTING! 1. I loaded ImCokeMan's unlocker ver 2.31. 2. I loaded the Sprint ROM and MISTAKENLY let customizations run. 3. I re-ran the Sprint ROM and soft-reset before customizations ran again. 4. I called Verizon to re-authenticate my phone to get phone calls and sms working again. I regained phone calls but my data connection was broken (wrong user-name and password) and my phone also looked like it was "roaming". My GPS radio worked (so-so, took a long time for a lock). 5. I re-flashed a multitude of other custom ROMs (thanks to PPCKithen's BuildOS) to test various things but still had same results (good phone and so-so gps but no data and still looked like i was roaming). 6. drellisdee helped me with the rest. For the "roaming" problem, he directed me to the following post (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...o+refurbishand ) and that fixed that. 7. For the data connection problem I had a high ESN number (following the guidance on drellisdee's post at http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...174#post202174) so I SIMPLY had to call Verizon and ask them to re-provision my phone for data connectivity. I explained a hard-reset wiped me out and now I can't reconnect. They had to escalate the call but within 15 minutes on the phone they had me connected again. I had to pull the battery out while they re-provisioned my network profile (i.e., re-authenticate). They also explained that when using *228, I should only select option 2 because that will both update and re-associate with the towers - she said it does more than activation option 1. 8. Now after testing a bunch of PPCKitchen ROM variations, I think I'm settling on OMJ's Custom Verizon ROM. IMO its the most complete and using it my GPS locks within a minute inside my house. Hope this helps. |
