Do you need to flash the vx6900 to work for Verizon?

I am thinking about buying the vx6900 off Ebay. It says it is an Alltel phone. Does that mean I have to flash this phone or the Sprint Touch to work for Verizon? If so, does anyone have the step by step instructions (& has successfully done it)? Thank you.
