One more memory card thread shouldn't hurt!Damn issues!

I have been reading through the problems with memory cards on here and I have finally fallen victim. I do not know if the card is corrupt or not, but all my pictures disappeared and everytime I try to save a new pic or video to the card, it also disappears!

I couldn't find an answer in the threads I have read, but has anyone figured out a way to rescue these before formatting the card?

Also, perhaps some interesting info that I haven't seen posted....
I was messing around with MemMaid and found "card tools" which shows the properties of the card.

Of interest:

FAT :16 (WTF? Never heard of FAT 16)
Number of FATs: 2

I don't know how the hell that happened, but shouldn't most cards be formatted as FAT 32 or NTFS?

I don't know if this will help a damn thing, but I figured I would throw it out there and see if anything has been figured out!

For the record, it isn't the Outlook issue b/c I don't use the email anymore. Now I do listen to music a lot while doing yardwork and it has gone to sleep once or twice while working. I have seen that could be part of the problem.

FYI. FAT 16 is the original FAT. They added the 16 so you know it's 16 bit not 32 bit.

The format will be based on the size of your memory card.

however, seems that the Touch has some issues with cards. Be very careful storing data, etc. and keep lots of backups on your pc.
