USB host drivers?

Ok, upon some reading on the net and Qualcom's website, I found the diagram attached below. It shows the functions of the MSM 7500 (the chip found in the Vogue).

My eyes stumbled upon the bottom left part, under "Connectivity". The USB port is labeled as "USB OTG". Upon further reading, the chip actually does meet all the requirements for USB OTG.

USB OTG (or on-the-go) means you can connect other devices, having your Vogue act as host! This means you could plugin flashdrives, USB harddrives, maybe even keyboards & mice!

I already tried connecting some of these devices (with a modified cable), however none are recognized. It's obvious our version of Windows Mobile 6.1 is missing the drivers for that functionality....

Did anyone do any research into this? If not, anyone interested to work together and find a way to make it work?

Diagram of MSM7500:

Re: USB host drivers?

Over the years, there have been a FEW, and I mean VERY FEW PPC devices that have had ANY host capability. I believe Dell had one, not sure if HP had one. Even then, there were soooo few drivers, it was nearly a waste of time. Basic keyboard, and a "serial port" class driver for GPS was the only 2 I remember. Most folks don't care to try to use it as a full computer so there isn't much need to bloat the rom with them.

I think it was the Toshiba series that had USB host capability. That was a long time ago, though.

Re: USB host drivers?

I think many people would love this capability, don't know if it's possible or not in real world right now though....

Yeah, now that you mention it, I think it was Toshiba not Dell. Yeah, that was a long time ago.

I miss my ipaq SLEDS. That was such a cool feature too.

Re: USB host drivers?

Bumping an old thread as I was hoping to use a USB Keyboard with my Touch, through an adapter like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Female-Mini-Ma...0413354&sr=1-1

And then using USBInput/BlueInput, as described here:

http://www.anewmorning.com/2008/11/1...with-usbinput/

Has anyone had success with this?

Re: USB host drivers?

Sadly, the answer seems to be "no, no it doesn't work." I got one of the adapters and can't get the keyboard to work.

Are there any options out there to make this work?
