Landscape/Portrait Mode in different programs

Is there a registry hack/cab/anything to allow the user to pick the screen for different programs? (i.e. Landscape mode for messaging, portrait mode for everything else)

I apologize if this has been discussed elsewhere or if this is something really simple. I'm a noob and have just gotten into modifying/customizing my phone.

I'd appreciate any help I could get. Thanks!
