Do you mind if I ask what kind of usage you were doing while tethering? Was it just web surfing? Or were you downloaing with P2P, Bittorrent, etc..?

I only want to use it to check a few websites while i'm at a firends house or whatever, check some guitar tabs and whatnot. Much easier to look at on a monitor thats 20 inches instead of 3, lol. Don't plan on using it to download P2P or Torrents.

Whats so special about pdanet ? from the description it seems like doing the same thing as the hack...right? if you can use the hack why buy the pdanet to share internet... in the end if bell catches on, wouldnt they charge you whether u use pdanet or the hack?

Sorry for all the questions... im just trying to understand what the difference is,, coz it sounds like you are implying you may get away unnoticed with pdanet...

Re: Tethering on Bell?

Well Im not going push PDAnet.. this was just my personal experience. I have had 3 other people that used the Registry edits that were NOT using P2P while using tethering and they were also charged.. Luckly for them they let them add a Data plan to cover the charges. This is totally Trial and Error.. and if you read the Service Aggrements again you will see that It doesnt mater if they dont catch you for 6 invoices or 50,, if they look deeper at your usage and at the History of where you were connecting then its pretty obvious that you were tethered.. also they can tell because of the brower that you are connecting from.

Re: Tethering on Bell?

Can anyone explain further if a registry hack is possible fo r tethering Bell?

I've heard Internet Sharing is the fastest way to connect to the Internet. Faster than PDAnet and USBModem. But to use Internet Sharing you need your registry to be correctly hacked so your carrier can't recognise you.

Can anyone help on this matter?

Thank you
