Bell PPST Tests... (Sprint PPST Too!)

Hey people, I thought I would do some tests, this might only apply to Bell Touch users tho, as thats what I am.

I cant try the stock Bell PRI because, well I have been playing with the Sprint Leaked PRI and NFSFANS Bell PRI.

Here's what I'm gonna do. I'm going to flash Ghettos Stock Bell ROM on NFSFANs Bell PRI 1.33_007 and do some very straight forward GPS Tests, then I'm going to flash Sprint Leaked BETA PRI 2.03_003 and see which is faster at locking GPS.

I will start GPS Today from exactly the same place outside and time how long it takes me to get a lock, and how many sats I lock onto. Then I will use GPS Viewer (after a hard restart) and do the same test. I will not test warm or hot starts, as they're fast with everything.

One question I have is if there is a new PPST on the *Official* new Sprint ROM, and if so, if its safe to run on a Bell phone. If someone could answer this for me I'll test that too!

Stay tuned for results.

Change of plans. For some reason Ghettos Bell Rom wont
let me run either PPST. I don't know why. Anyways, I'm going to use JD's 30.06.08 ROM instead...

The new official PPST (2.04) kills the internet (breaks authentication) on my Bell phone.

The new PPST also sets some registry settings in HKLM\Software\OEM\PPST that make it run silently unlike before.

The test PPST (v2.03) still runs fine and I do notice better GPS performance when compared to the 1.33 PRI.

I'm running the new official radio as well with GhettoFreeRyder's Hybrid (Diamond SYS, Official ROM) release for Bell.

Re: Bell PPST Tests... (Sprint PPST Too!)

Alright here we go. Some early results.
Radio: 3.42.30
ROM: 3.03.JD (ie. JD 06.30.0

PRI: 1.33_007 (NFSFAN's Bell PPST)
Test 1: 46seconds (4 sats)
Test 2: 49seconds (4 sats)

PRI: 2.03_003 (Sprint Leaked PPST)
Test 1: no lock (gave up after 4 min)
Test 2: 1minute 28seconds (4 sats)
Test 3: no lock (gave up after 4 min)

I'm thinking that I may need to install the Sprint PPST and test again... More later
