Overall, is it safe to upgrade "leaked but not truly Official" ROM?

EDIT: i JUST REALIZED THIS IS NOT THE OFFICIAL ROM. WE CAN KEEP THIS GOING BUT I AM NOT GOING TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE CONFUSION BY CALLING IT OFFICIAL.

I have been debating back and forth between upgrading to the new rom or not.

When I had the mogul, i rmember when the first major rom update came out, i held off from upgrading and glad i did, because it had many bugs, and didn't add much. When they released the second major update, they had work the kinks out and added gps/rev.A.

Well now I'm in a similar dilemma, except this 1st major update does have GPS and rev.A which I have been waiting for. But of course there are many bugs reported as well.

My first question is, are there any bugs that are considered definite and real...meaning it has been confirmed by EVERYBODY who have updated to the LEAKED ROM? If so, what are they? (If you tell me and i collect hem and post it back on the first post here so that it is easy to find).

I know ther are other bug threads, but I am trying to focus on "confirmed" bug. If there are enough of these there is a good chance Sprint will release another rom soon. If most of the bugs are only in certain cases or situations, then they may not decide to fix the ROM.

Second, if you had to do it again, do you feel it is safe to upgrade? May be I should poll this.

CONFIRMED BUGS or Disadvantages of the New leaked but not official Sprint ROM

1. Tether profile is set to Phone as Modem. This can be changed through registry edit to SprintPCS, but it has been reported that it will change itself back. See this link for info: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=30265
2. Alphabet strip on the right side of Contacts program sometimes doesn't show up.
3. Vibrate mode doesn't stop vibrating until soft reset (UNCONFIRMED, may be a software conflict...need more of your input/comments)
4.

Re: Overall, is it safe to upgrade Official ROM?

I got a confirmed bug/gripe.. Pretty darn sneaky of them to use a mxipupdate*.provxml to keep changing their setttings back to "Phone as Modem". Easily fixed in a custom rom.

Other than my usual tweaks, I haven't found any issues with the new rom yet. I took me a couple of nights off to re-do the rom the way I want it. Only other issue was getting a dialer to work which a quick download of one of yours fixed the problem.

One of the bugs I have noticed is that within the contacts the alphabet strip on the right does not show up once in a while.

This also happens on pre-Offical Custom ROMs.

But has EVERYBODY seen this at one point or another? Or only some people?

Or put it another way, has anyone not seen this at all?

I've seen a couple of problems...alphabet strip, vibrate mode won't stop vibrating once it starts....but overall, this was a very nice update. GPS works like a champ and I'm getting data speeds like I've never seen before.

What happened? are you saying when tethering it changes to "Phone as Modem"? Is this a problem when using PDAnet or just in sharing mode?

You might get charged when using the PAM setting if you dont pay for PAM on your plan. But no one will really know until the bill comes out.

Another reason for the reg edits is that the new ROM wont let most of us Tether using the PAM setting (Most likely due to us not having the PAM feature on our accounts), so we have do the reg edit to make "Sprint PCS" available for it to work without the "Error 67" pop up.
