no problem.

Remember that in Rev. A its not much about
speed. Although you might see an increase but
it is more about the stability of the connection.

So the real test should be something like
sprint tv or other streaming connections.

Re: Overall, is it safe to upgrade Official ROM?

Here are my test results with REV.A enabled or disabled. It does not make a significant change toggling between these 2 settings. I still get lower and upper 600 kbps.Ur right mr.tantrum that rev.a is not all about speed. It's the stability too but isn't it nicer if U have speed and stability? Well, I guess it's in my area not the phone. I will try to test on other areas too. for now, I'll just take what I have. Thanks.

Re: Overall, is it safe to upgrade Official ROM?

After looking at the pole, i decided to take the plunge, including a hard reset after the inital installation.

I have noticed two new program compatibilty issues not yet described.

First, when I run iContact .73 or .73beta by bert, I get an error message, but icontact does run. however, the top bar either does not get loaded or if it does, i get a "wifi" icon up there (which we know can't be right). I am thinking GPS has something to do with this?

Second, I have not been able to get USBModem to work with the new rom. it installs like it should but then when I connect with DUN, it crashes the USBModem program on my ppc.

Anyone seeing this?

Re: Overall, is it safe to upgrade Official ROM?

I think i got the USBModem part figured out. I tried on a different PC and it works. On the PC that didn't work, i installed Sprint Connection manager on it earlier that day and I wonder if it has anything to do with it not working.

It goes to show lots of time we think it has to do with the new rom, but it may be another software that is causing the incompatibilty. That is why i stressing "proven" bugs on this thread.

Re: Overall, is it safe to upgrade Official ROM?

some bugs that I have been getting are call history displays missed calls by default and not all. this is very annoying. phone contacts doesn't display alpha bar on the side sometimes. the nav button (i'm guessing that's what it is) does not work. aol mail STILL doesn't open the e-mail whenever u get a new message and click on view. i also restored my call history and text messages using pim backup i don't know if this messed anything up though but its seems to be working fine except for call history and text convo threading isn't in order for restored messages but its cool.

The problem with the type of bugs you are describing is that they are not confirmed or consistent. For instance, i restored using pim backup for call history and text also, and I am not experiencing any of the bugs yet. My phone contacts always have displayed the alpha bar and when i go into the dialer and press the call history button I always get All Messages. I am not downplaying the significance of your bugs, but it may be a software conflict that is causing it, which we need to figure out. But I am looking for bugs that EVERYBODY is encountering consistently, those are the ones I want to list on the first post.
I may also post some bugs that we are unsure if it is consistent yet, but will remove it off my list if someone reports that they don't have that issue.

Re: Overall, is it safe to upgrade "leaked but not truly Official" ROM?

I JUST REALIZED THIS IS NOT THE OFFICIAL ROM. WE CAN KEEP THIS GOING BUT I AM NOT GOING TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE CONFUSION BY CALLING IT OFFICIAL.
