New Sprint ROM, different Opera problem

Thanks in advance to all the helpful geniuses here! I'm hoping you can help. Yesterday I upgraded to the new Sprint ROM. I'm having just a couple of small problems, whitch I will ask about in separate posts.

About a week ago I installed Opera Mobile, a trial version with nag screen at start up. Then I did a restore using Sprite. I think that the Sprite restore overwrote the Opera included in the new ROM, because I am getting the nag screen when I start Opera.

Can I uninstall the trial version and access the version that came with the new ROM without having to do another hard reset/reinstall of each and every db?

Thanks!

Re: New Sprint ROM, different Opera problem

Oh, and Opera does not show up under the Java tab.

Re: New Sprint ROM, different Opera problem

I'll give you a word of warning. I too attempted a restore using sprite and had various little nagging issues. I ended up hard resetting and installing everything by hand. Seems that backups work great on the exact same rom version, but when you move to a different rom there are some registry changes and such that cause issues.

Re: New Sprint ROM, different Opera problem

Yep, I'm sure you are right.

Just did a hard reset and tested Opera, GPS, etc...everything looks great. Now I am syncing my Outlook data back onto my Touch. Once that is done, I'll do the reinstalls. Thankfully nearly everything that needs to be reinstalled is on SD card.

I'll report back once it's all done..

Re: New Sprint ROM, different Opera problem

Yep, that took care of it - I guess I've learned my lesson about upgrades.

Thanks!
