What drivers do you have working so far? There are 3 drivers mentioned in post 1 that need to be included and functional to receive the prize money.

I wish I could pledge more, but I'm still in the poor college student phase of my life. I could do $10.00.

the REV/A depends on your area thati believe cannot be fixed in a ROM but if you check the speeds in my signature those are with barely three bars of signal. the GPS has been tested and reported back working well i will incorporate the assisted GPS hack into and i am gong to put the drivers in there and test it foer a lil while then i will release if i see fit to. it will be up on the ftp but not for long because the people i want to test will get the pm and i will re upload if i see some others that i would like to test it. i say this because i have had very little time to test these and i do not someone with lttle experience messing up their phone.

These are some big pledges guys...I'm worried that the developers that can do it aren't taking this seriously.

That may be the case but I know I pledged $150 because I plan on paying $150 to whoever get's it working. Some others may be blowing smoke but I know my pledge is legit.

That's true. I mean, I am more than willing to put the money up but who is to say that everyone in the thread is trustworthy and is going to pay up. If only there was a way to guarantee the money from everyone, there "might" be some additional development help. However, I already think we have the best of the best working on it cuz look at where we are at....PPCGEEKS.:headbang:

true but theres been a while $7,000 bounty ( i believe) on xda for a while and i think its more that developers cant get it fully working not that theyre not taking the money seriously. I dont know if well ever see a real solution to the issue. the progress is good but its still far from fully functioning real-life. I think a lot of the support is going to drop off in the coming months as people upgrade to other devices and the new round of HTC's

Maybe the GSM people, but not CDMA people.

dunno why you say that most CDMA people are itching to upgrade to the sprint Diamond/touch Pro or 800w. Interest is going to die off sharply in the current HTC devices we have now within a few months. A lot of the big developers are going to continue with the new devices which always happens. Just like theres still a little support for the 700wx and 6700, but MAIN focus is the current line-up of the touch/Mogul which will shift to the Diamond/Pro. Not saying its not worth it but dont get hopes so high that itll 100% be accomplished.

My point was if money was the issue someone in the world would have stepped up and claimed the 7 grand prize on xda. Its obviously not the money, its probably simply the fact that no one can do it right now is why we dont have anything yet. Its taken what 8 months to get something close to running on the device at least to test? People will simply lose interest over time is the main problem. Half the people that pledged will back out when they buy a new HTC come the end of 2008 and specifically said if its done before the Diamond/Pro come out.

The problem is were the "geeks" not the avg person who keeps a phone for 2 years- everyone here is already itching to buy a new HTC no matter if they have to pay full price, and less concerned about drivers when they know theyll have them soon either way. if this was Dec 2007, then the effort would be much stronger IMO but at this point a lot of people are just looking ahead to whats coming

not trying to demean the effort here at all, just being realistic. i dont think 10 times the bounty will change it

Well you already got my ROM that has the ATI drivers in it but the other drivers are gonna be somewhat more difficult.

Installing CorePlayer right now. I've been flashing so much I haven't tried my new ROM's video capabilities yet but I'm about to.

EDIT:: Using DirectDraw in CorePlayer watching "The Fast and The Furious - Tokyo Drift", I would say that I see a marginal difference at best.

Turning on the microdrive buffer and switching to either RawFrameBuffer or GDI helps significantly when watching the same movie. It's still not amazing but works.

I have the ATI drivers and so do several others. I have the registry hooks and everything and have already implemented them into my ROM but there are more then just the ATI drivers that we need to get everything working properly.

I imagine the videos you are running in the Core
Player are .AVI and even with the addition of
Drivers you added it still not as smooth as
you like it to be.

Test out this player.

http://www.lonelycatgames.com/?produ...e_lcg_3_41.zip

I been running it on my touch for almost a week now
And it has flawlesly played .AVI movies
with no problems. I am talking about 700 to 900mb movies.
with great playback despite the drivers.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll definitely check it out. I'm actually watching A full length 900MB full length movie in CorePlayer and it is smooth if I use the GDI buffer with microdrive.

Let me check out that player now.

EDIT:: Wow that's almost good. Is it using the DirectDraw or some other buffer?

It really doesnt give much details
of what buffers it uses and doesnt
give you all the features of the core
but I personally think it runs the videos
more smoothly than the core.

I'll do $20. Probably more if it's actually released. Why not create an escrow account to hold the money. After 6 months if it isn't out refund all the money. If someone actually develops it you can send the money without trying to collect. Plus it will give the developers the security that they actually will get the money.

I'm not talking about the TCPMP. I'm talking about the CorePlayer and I know that if you configure the CorePlayer right it plays video very smoothly. I have a ~~32000 GDI glyph cache and I have the micro drive buffer enabled and configured so I an play movies as smooth as a dvd on a tv.

That's a good idea but I don't want to be responsible for the money.

Use an Escrow service. Escrow.com charges 3.25% for the first 5000 and 0.26% for anything beyond that. That way the developers know for SURE that the money is good. Only thing is we'd all lose 3.25% of what we are pledging if it falls through.

This isn't a typical transaction they would take on but I'm sure they could accommodate.

I have both tcpmp and core and
I get the same choppy playback no
matter what. I use microdrive, gdi

are the same. The only times I can
get smooth playback on the core or
tcpmp is when the file is under
600mb and kbs is under 768

Strange... I love TCPMP and Core. I would have never bought Core but since TCPMP doesn't seem to work in the newer ROMs I had no other choice.

It's not in coreplayer. It's the system. You need to use a registry editor to change it.

I ran Core Player for a while and didn't notice it was any better. I then (this was about a month ago) did some research and found that when they made it, they optimized qtv for the Tilt, but not the Mogul or Touch. There were a few posts about it over on the core player's forum, but all of them seemed dead. So unless they came out with a new version, no one should be running that smoothly.
