not a rookie but have no idea where to find the gps on the touch. a ton of customizing left to do but I would love to have the gps work with google maps so if someone knows how to do this please give me a heads up. and thanks to all those who have helped with me and others here.

But you are going to get flamed on here very quickly if you cant figure out how to search out old conversations.

How-To Get GPS Working Every time (added by mindfrost82):

- Download GpsViewer.PPC300_2577.cab.zip(Holux GPS Viewer)(free)

- Run that program before you run any other GPS program

- Set it to Com4 and click Open

- Be near a window to get a fast lock on GPS (mine still works inside my house though)

- When you start to see what looks like lat/long in the display minimize it (don't close it)

- Now run Google Maps (or any other app) and set it to Com4 (or automatic should work too)

- It should pickup GPS right away since the GPS Viewer already has the locks

- Remember to close the Holux GPS Viewer when you're done or it'll constantly use GPS and drain your battery!




This works for me everytime. it does take a few minutes though.

thanks dude but I just downloaded and installed the official sprint rom today so I wouldnt know about prior convos as they wouldnt have pertained to this. but thanks if this works.
