Re: New Sprint rom on Alltel
i tried the alltel ppst and it locked up the device.
glad to see someone else has this problem. Question: somehow the code i type to get into PPST changed. It use to be 000000 but now its some code off my ESN numbr. I saw someone mentioned changing the MSI back to 000000, how? Last edited by armus; 07-01-2008 at 03:43 PM. |

Re: New Sprint rom on Alltel
This is taken from this post.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=28393 Finding and Changing Your SPC (MSL)! 1. Download the MSL Generator from the FTP. 2. Save the GetSPC.exe and PPST_KeyGen.dll files to your MicroSD card. 3. Now you need your HEX ESN. You have a couple options with this. a) Take out your battery, right down the Decimal ESN and convert it to HEX. b) Go into your Start>Setting>Device Settings and right down the Decimal ESN and convert it to HEX. (thanks to clockcycle) c) Open up the CDMA Workshop, Choose Com4, Connect, Read, and your ESN should be on the Left. if it says : : failed : : , goto the Security tab, and under ESN click on Read. This is your HEX ESN. (should have some letters in it as well as numbers)4. Run the GetSPC.exe file on your phone (from your memory card) and then enter your HEX ESN in the input box. 5. Click Go. 6. Enjoy your SPC! **If you only wanted to get your SPC, you can stop here. If you want to get into the Service Programming files, or change your SPC, keep going. 7. Install QPST if you haven't already. 8. Run the Service Programming program under the QPST start menu. 9. Double click on the little globe at the bottom right of your screen. 10. Click on Add New Port, and add COM4 - USB/QC DIAGNOSTIC. 11. Close the QPST Configuration window, and go back to the QPST Service Programming window. 12. Click on your phone, which should now be there, and then click OK. 13. Click on Read From Phone and then enter your SPC and click OK. 14. You should now see your SPC in its box, all you have to do is change it to a convenient six (6) digit code of your choice, then click on Write to Phone! 15. Done! |

hmmmm prl is 30031, SID is your area's correct number... what about the NAM name under EPST? I don't believe it really does anything other than maybe display in HTC home. |

Re: New Sprint rom on Alltel
PRL is 40036 (I get more EvDO in Iowa with this one than the 300xx ones)
Home SID is 1236 (I know cuz i got in a fight with alltel customer service about this) NAM Name is NAM1 (The rest of the NAM settings look right) Overall i dont think it messed with any of my programming when i updated Oh and by the way, working EvDO with Code:
HA Shared Secret:w5J6phhEh3qHEMMS AAA Shared Secret:alltel |

Re: New Sprint rom on Alltel
I ran this tonight .. and it did nothing didnt update the PRI at all. Its a cab file as well. Really weird!
Any ideas?? Does the PRL and PRI have to be both same say from Alltel? or can the PRL be from Sprint and PRI from Alltel? I have terrible cell reception in my office..so I was hoping the PPST ALLTEL would fix it or atleast help with it. Thanks! Rick |
