http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=19071 On another note, if you are willing to void your warranty there are a number of custom ROMs out there that enable GPS and Rev. A but you must be willing to Hard-Reset your device as the upgrade will wipe clean anything not on the storage card. You can read up on how to upgrade your Vogue(CDMA Touch) to Rev. A/GPS here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=24979 If you are not looking to void your warranty(or are scared to do so) there are a number of custom ROMs that do NOT enable Rev. A and GPS but will still give you a taste of what a real custom ROM is on the Touch. You will need to search around for those ones as they are buried on the forum thanks to the latest hustle and bustle about Rev. A and GPS. There is also a leaked Sprint ROM that enables Rev. A and GPS and in my experience, it is pretty stable but there are some program incompatibilities that hopefully will be fixed in their official release(should it ever come...). If you want to ask about the official release of the Sprint Rev A./GPS ROM please do a forum search before posting a new thread about is as there are literally dozens of threads discussing it. But to answer your question about whether or not there is a ROM that Mirrors the GSM Touch ROM, there is not one to date but there are ways of modifying some custom ROMs to have that appearance. I will see what I can do about building a custom ROM that is both NON-GPS/Rev. A GPS/Rev.A enabled and I will create a new thread for it when it is finalized. Hope this was helpful and WELCOME to the Vogue forum. Dan.

Thanks for the reply. I am not worried about voiding my warranty. I see that a few days ago the official ROM was released. I'm not really sure if it contains GPS, but does contain the radio upgrade for revision A. Anyway... I'm specifically curious if any custom ROM contains the audio manager + audio booster (that works). Oddly enough, I installed both on the Touch, and the Audio Booster doesn't work at all. Very stange and disappointing. I had been using an HTC Wings S730 for about six months as my primary MP3 player and it was great. I have now searched around and tested multiple mp3 players and found the pocket player seems to be the best, but I am having trouble with the EQ causing clipping on bass tones, which HTC Audio Manager + Audio Booster never did and was able to deliver rich sound. This is my main complaint about the Touch. Sweet-*** phone, but the lack of HTC's Audio Manager + Audio Booster, it's a serious disappointment. Oh well... as a guy in the #PPC-Chat said "have you ever heard of the iPod?" If anyone has any input, please let me know. Thanks, Matt |

I'll admit it. I posted again abotu the "same thing..." sort of... Yea... I used that, but no EQ. Pocket player is pretty tight. Works well... pretty good EQ. I think if I fiddle with the settings enough (DSP + EQ) I'll get a sweet spot. Almost have it worked out. So I'm good to flash away. How's the diamond project coming along? Thanks! Matt |
