How to change to another rom safely?

Hi,

How does one safely go from one custom rom to another? I'm running the Almost Sprint Rom GPS / REV A v3 oem rom and would like to try OMJ's. I originally ran the unlocker (2.31), then flashed the leaked sprint rom, then flashed the almost sprint oem rom.

Do I just flash with a different custom rom? Do I have to re-flash the leaked rom, then run the different custom rom? Do I have to run a different unlocker?

Thanks!!!

GP

Re: How to change to another rom safely?

As long as your radio is compatible with the ROM (It should be stated in the post which radios are compatible) then you should be able to just flash directly to the new ROM

First time start with Leaked ROM. After that just flash away to different roms. As light stated before...make sure the radio is compatible.

Re: How to change to another rom safely?

These guys are correct.

It is ok to go ahead and flash a OMJ rom, as it requires you to have the 3.xx radio which you already have.

Proceed to flash bruh and gd luck to you.

Might I add that I LOVE OMJS WM6.1 GPS/REV.A rom. im running it now on my touch and no complaints so far bruh.

Just a tip here though- WATCH YOUR MEMORY. based on my observation I noticed that the programs running after startup can and will eat your memory for breakfast bruh. This causes quick battery depletion (assuming you use ur phone on the average).

A fix? Im using SK Tools- optimized for maximum memory. Worked like a charm bruh. Speeds are still exceptionally fast.

Just something to think about bruh.

Ya Boy,
Coast

Re: How to change to another rom safely?

I cook my own ROM from other guru's kitchens and from times to times, I ported SYS from other build.

I cook my ROM because I tweaked it to the max where it's to a point that it's ZERO CONFIG required, a hard reset will basically bring back everything I have and like.

And, it never hurts to wear a condom while flashing...just to be safe...

Re: How to change to another rom safely?

Use SPB Backup 2.0 to back up your files and settings if you don't want to reinstall all your apps. The new version allows you to restore backups to different ROMs or devices, and is the best damn thing I have used for backup hands down.
