ran PPST on bell rom...now always roaming

Ok let me start by first saying I have tried all the fixes I could find under search. I was running a Bell rom and ran a program called PPST, now it keeps saying on digital roaming and wont connect to verizon network. I have tried putting on a new verizon rom and let customization run and it still wont connect. I have tried running a cab with the verizon prl and it said updated unsuccessful....

any help would be appreciated...

Try member NFSFAN here on this forum. He seems to have good handle on PPST stuff.

Re: ran PPST on bell rom...now always roaming

Not sure, are you a Verizon or a Bell customer?

I think you need to find the latest PRL from your actual service, do a google search or here or at Howardforums.

Once you get the latest PRL, transfer it to someplace like the storage card on your phone, then you need to ##778# or whatever it is for your network to open the EPST screen then do the "view info" select PRL and select update point at the PRL file.

I seem to recall Verizon customers may have to call verizon and have them do something with reactivating or something.

Re: ran PPST on bell rom...now always roaming

I am a verizon customer. I have tried exactly what you suggested. It doesnt seem to overwrite the old prl. For some reason it always stays the same. I have had verizon get me a new a code and that did no good
either. for some reason nothing seems to be able to "overwrite" this file...I have tried tons of things...

Re: ran PPST on bell rom...now always roaming

i get this problem with ppst on Alltel and have made several posts about it. Look at your SID number (run Epst). Mine is 120 (it depends on your local provider) and PPST resets it to a 1 and therefore my phone thinks I'm roaming even in my home area. It's annoying but at least I found the problem. Check to see if you have the same problem. If so, get the number from your provider and change it. Takes about 5 minutes and your back to normal.
