Mobile email client

I installed the Sprint test rom and so far, results have been mixed. However, the one thing that I really am struggling with is the Sprint Mobile email client. I have yet to figure out how to unconfigure it, as it constantly is constantly connecting to the internet via a data call and killing my battery life. I can live without my phone telling me that I have new yahoo email, and I'd really like to figure out how to disable the mobile email client from starting up. I'm fine with checking my email manually. Any ideas out there?
