Mobile email client

I installed the Sprint test rom and so far, results have been mixed. However, the one thing that I really am struggling with is the Sprint Mobile email client. I have yet to figure out how to unconfigure it, as it constantly is constantly connecting to the internet via a data call and killing my battery life. I can live without my phone telling me that I have new yahoo email, and I'd really like to figure out how to disable the mobile email client from starting up. I'm fine with checking my email manually. Any ideas out there?

The SME client will use whatever data connection you have set as default on your device. You can configure the client to do a schedule sync if you want to get the data usage under more control. You can also turn it off all together by disabling push and disabling scheduled syncs, then performing a manual sync when you want to check your email for even further control.

I could also review your log files to see if the client could possibly trying to connect/disconnect in a bugged type fashion.
