Angry Htc Touch - Issues I Face.. Help!!!

Hi guys, i have HTC touch(i dunno whether it's elf or vogue or sprint or wahtever), i have attached several screens so that you guys could find out what it is , i will list out the issues, please help me how to solve it,here are some screens of mobile

1. Video playback is crappy, i mean if i convert some videos to AVI and watch em.. at some point video moves frame by frame... why the hell.. even my nokia 6600 played the same video smooth.. what the hell is wron 128mb ram and still it cant even run a video !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. Word cant save documents, i get this error, my phone memory has some 30mb free and if i try to save 1mb word file it cant.. word cant save files with huge size or what ????

2. Internet explorer is damn slow!!!,,, it's if i open some 1mb website or something it just scrolls like ****, i mean to say like if i open some text website it is slow....

3. i have opera 9.5 installed and that does'nt render some sites at all. it gives some peculiar error, also this opera thing cant be uninstalled and it's hijacking like if i open some url always opera only runs it and i am not able to change it at all..

4.i have installed all possible softwares to run flash videos in my IE(like pie plus, tcmcp codec), but whenever i open youtube or some flash video site... phone just hangs ... come on!!!! whats with , i had tried several times now and it always hangs,,

5. In my phone white color looks yellowish, normally i dont notice this, but if i compare with my bro's TYTN II , it looks damn yellowish, i had set brightness to full, but still it looks the same

what can i do to solve these issues.. if i should upgrade my rom or something.. i am totally new to it,,,, if i am upgrading do i need any extra hardware or jus my PC is enof, if so could you plaese recommend a good ROM or something.. and also tell me how to upgrade ....

Re: Htc Touch - Issues I Face.. Help!!!

1. Video playback is crappy because HTC neglected to include the drivers for the ATI Imageon video drivers so the DirectDraw is crap and nothing you can do as of right now is going to fix this. There is a way to play Video smoothly though. Install TCPMP and go into the menu and change the file associations to support AVI and then switch from the DirectDraw to the RawFrameBuffer. Video plays great for me like this. I have fill length movies on my phone and they play smoothly.

2. Word can save large files. Try storing them to the 512MB storage card that came with your phone or a larger one if you have one.

3. Pie is only slow because the processor is unable to render the pages quickly. Think back to the days when you had a computer with a 400mhz processor and 128MB or RAM... Same scenario. Pages will not load that quickly in PIE.

4. If you have installed the version of Opera that came with the new Diamond ROM(build 1126 I think?) it cannot be uninstalled and you will need to hard-reset in order to remove it. At least that is to the best of my knowledge. I have noticed the same thing.

5. Installing FlashVideoBundle along with TCPMP and configuring the settings to play flash video will add an extension to PIE so when you click on a video it opens TCPMP to play it.

6. As far as the yellowish hue you are seeing in the screen, you probably have one of the bad screens being discussed here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=26742

If you are looking to upgrade your ROM to something newer and better then you need to refer to this thread here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=24979

Heed the warnings and read very carefully before proceeding with the upgrade. It can be fatal to your phone if you screw up somewhere along the line.

Hope this answered your questions and should you decide to upgrade, Good Luck!!

Re: Htc Touch - Issues I Face.. Help!!!

Thank you very for the reply dude...i have some more doubts....
1, video playback, ATI imageo video drivers are for the Qualcomm MSM7200, 400 Mhz processor's right.. i have OMAP processor

2, i tried storing the word document in my storage card and it's still not able.. it shows the same error message

3. i tried with PIE uninstalled and it's the same

4. How do i hard reset, if i do what contents will i lose ?

5. i have installed FlashVideoBundle, but it's not triggering TCPMP

6. about the link you gave for upgrading rom says it's for 'Vogue', and if you look at my screens it says model no : ELF0100, also mine is a unlocked version, i mean no carrier crap like altel, verizon here... what do i do then??

Another doubt is if i upgrade rom itself i will ge WM6.1 installed or i have to install WM6.1 and then upgrade roms?....

You said you have an OMAP processor right? So you have an Elf and not a Vogue. You want to read up on this forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=372

It is exclusive to the Elf and the Elfin(Touch Enhanced) and they will be able to offer you more better answers than I can as I have a Vogue.
