Do you use Wireless Sync? If not uninstall it....

If you do use it, I suggest as Mr. Goodtunes said, to remove it from the startup folder.

most likey there is a reg setting to enable/disable....there is a battery icon that you can enable in the sys tray also, it is located @ HKLM\Services\Power\ShowIcon, 0=disable, 1=enable

so check the HKLM\Services\ for a folder called wireless sync or similar. if you don't find a folder, try doing a registry search for wireless sync.

This thread has helped me with one half of my problem (getting my background picture darker), but the other problem I have is that the photo I want as my background is showing up as a tile and it looks weird. Is there any way I can get it to stop tiling?

If its size is less than 240X320 or vice versa for the other orientation then the graphic will tile as that

Use a graphics program (Gimp for instance is free and full featured) and resize to the specs above and it will stop the tiling

The icon is definitely a today plugin. Go to settings -> system or personal, i forget -> click today. There should be a bunch of boxes with what you want enabled. Might be in the second tab? For example, the big clock can be disabled by unchecking "Verizon HTC Touch" or "HTC Touch". Look for something that might resemble the wireless and uncheck it. I don't have 6.1 in front of me to be more specific.

Maybe you need a qvga wallpaper picture. I think there are wallpaper pics made especially for qvga which is what the Vogue has.

Thanks I looked up qvga wallpapers just to TRY it since NOTHING seems to work ! Arg. Found a few here on this site v

saved image -yada yah.. went to apply it and came out with the same result..

But once I figure the previous program mentioned out and apply it Ill try and post a screen shot of my success ahha!

Still open for a simple solution.. Im calling Verizon tomorrow to see if tech can help hahaha.. Im desperate for an answer!

Ps : thanks for the qvga mention-- still learning the names of stuff for mobiles.. Found some great wallpapers just by typing in "qvga wallpapers" in google.!

You can also just look for qvga themes that will change the background/wallpaper and most change the colors of the start menu and buttons and menu boxes. Those are the simplest to install because all you do is download the cab file to your device and click on it and it will install. I suggest downloading the cab first and saving it, then exit your browser and click on the cab to install. Most of the time I recommend downloading to My Documents or Windows. Good Luck!

Hey this is Madonnas BF, After reading through this forum I found one persons to work well just explained poorly, so this is a very simple and easy way to go through it...step by step...

Start at today screen.

Start Menu>Programs>Pictures & Videos>Click whichever image you want as background>Menu>Set as Today Background...>Make Transparency Level: 0%>OK(top right)>VUALA Your done.


exit to today screen and there you go.

So, yeah .. I gave up! and it turns out that this was actually VERY VERY VERY simple and I flipped out when my b/f showed me!.. Wtf!!!
By pictures&videos I was thinking picture album.. So .. YEAH! -those steps didnt work when I went to albums!.. hahahah.. WOW!!
