Changing Outbound SMTP Port
I have read a lot of posts about changing the outbound smtp port when using windows mobile by appending :<port number>
On my Sprint Touch, this does not work... unless I'm missing something. I've tried editing existing, or even deleting and creating a new connection...
THis is causing me problems because I use my own email server and do not wish to open port 80 up to all IP addresses. When I was with Cingular, they had maybe 2 IP ranges that I could open up and all was well. With Sprint, they are all over the place.
I don't want to set it for authentication, because I use a spam filter that does not have the ability to authenticate, nor can I change its sending port.
My only hope it to set the outbound port to something else, then I can require authentication instead of tracking IPs... unless someone has Sprint's IP range ?
I use push on my touch for work email, so I'm left with IMAP/SMTP for home... woudl be nice if you coudl set up multiple activesync connections.
