Re: bad signal

I have tried roaming but it uses the battery so fast I hardly have time to try it before the battery is gone. LOL

Don't leave it permanently in roaming, just change it when you are around the hills to test if you get coverage. If you do, then search on how to maximize your battery life and phone performance.

Re: bad signal

What PRL is Sprint Touch users using with the Sprint 6.1 ROM? I upgraded to the new ROM and have 60613. Ever since my signal has been bad. Is anybody using 60711 and if so how is working? I called tech support and asked them to flag my phone for a Prl update which they did, when I called back and updated I still have 60613. So if 60711 works better I will call back and ask for that one. Thanks in advance, BOO

Re: bad signal

My Touch with 6.1 ROM came with 60613. But it doesn't really affect your signal strength unless you're actually roaming. If you live in a weak signal area like I do (usually 2-3 bars) you're stuck unless you force roaming. Changing prl's won't increase Sprint's signal at all.

I realize this. I have had many different phones and PRL's and when in these bad area's you get a better signal. Right now my service isn't as good in such bad area's as 60612 was. My phone won't ring and my wife's will. Also my phone keeps turning on I shut it off and it comes right back on again within seconds. It didn't due this with 60612. Thanks, BOO

Re: bad signal

I think any of the 60XXX PRL's are junk, I still am in love with 20227 and 20231

Just FYI, best signal for me is 20227 and I live in a fringe area.

I didn't think those worked on the Touch. Does GPS still work with the 202xx PRLs?

Re: bad signal

I had 60711 for a while and also tried 60613. I went back to 60612 though because I noticed my phone flipping over to roaming in my house, which has a Sprint cell site within a couple miles and usually has a strong signal. Since going back to 60612 I haven't had the problem.
