Re: So after the gps "update" im pretty much screwed right?
I'm not sure how much research you've put in to this but there are some stable GPS ROMs out there that include the standard boot loading screen (HTC) and not the Swedish Chef.
Go here - http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=25335 Follow the instructions. Install the Sprint Test ROM then flash with the OMJ.WM6.1.GPS.OEM.Sprint.exe That's about as close as you're gonna get to Sprint OEM and the Sprint store would likely not even notice. I've been using this ROM for roughly 2 weeks and its been very stable. |

if you really need to bring it in & possibly swap out, then you may have to downgrade your SPL to 0.40 then flash the stock 6.0 shipped Sprint rom, this will also overwrite the bootsplash.
yes, there's a risk, but if you have to do it, then you have no other choice.....I've done his myself.

Re: So after the gps "update" im pretty much screwed right?
If you have insurance, jump up and down on your phone a few times. If you have the $7 insurance, I find that the stores don't waste their time looking at the phone. They just start the process on getting the new phone.
I have also have down graded without issue. On a different note, I find the leaked rom to be the most stable rom that I have tried, before giving up try that. The worst rom was one I created with an early gps kitchen rom. Good Luck |

My advice would be to try the downgrade, think of it this way...if you brick your phone and have insurance...just smash the hell out of it, say you accidentally dropped it or your girlfriend threw it into a wall or something. If the phone wont function, they can't see the boot screen or the SPL.
