Is there software that can let me view the a PPC on my PC? - Page 2

May I ask why people need these?

Entering names and numbers.... outlook sync.
Editing word documents... you directly open the document on your comp through activesync explorer.

Any insight? Maybe you're at work?

MyMobiler is great. Haven't tried the others.

Well a few points.
1. Not everyone has Outlook... tho I guess they do give you a copy on the activesync install disc.. but I rarely ever install software that comes with devices as its usually bloatware. I do already have it with my Office install, but i digress.
2. I use gmail and other online webmail because its everywhere that I am, and I don't need a mail application or a phone or anything to use it. So I don't find it worth my time to set a mail client up when Gmail and the online webmails works fine. Email Clients are pointless imo

So I use it to manually enter my names/numbers into the phone.

Now I see that it might be worthwhile to run outlook and sync this info up now that they are all in there, just so I can have a back up of my phone numbers when i install a new rom... but I will likely only do that once.

I guess there are lots of features.. but I find them useless in the way i use phones. I really don't even want WinMo...

I await the day where everywhere has highspeed access... then we wouldn't need any software on our phone or laptops, except for a VNC/Remote Desktop client. Then we could just access everything we need from anywhere on our home pc.

Im finding it rather nice to handle all the customizations and tweaks to my ppc phone ...

Some contacts are grabbed from the web while on the mobile and live search ... detailing them out and adding ring tones and photos for contacts - which I dont do in OUTLOOK ... is nice to do with MyMobiler.

Another good reason is for doing registry hacks and stuff, and getting things like Vista Cube and iphone themes set up with all the right paths and icons. Its probably the most useful utility ever.

I use this to text in the evenings when i'm sitting at my computer. The phone is in the dock and charging so its easier just to type on this keyboard than to pick the phone up and use TouchPal.

(read: I'm lazy)

I really don't care for Touchpal at all.. its too small. I find PCM keyboard a bit bigger and better. Plus TouchPal doesn't seem to let me type one letter. I want to type "s" but since its with "a" it immediately assumes "a" or "as" as the first result... i just want s!!

It took me a about a week of solid frustration to get Touchpal configured, and with my slang in the dictionary to show up in the "suggestions". I still have a LOT to learn with it - but Im getting way better at it.

It takes some getting used to. It seems to be getting smarter about the way my phat phingerz type - kinda strange. I tried PCM and the other landscape mode version that almost full screen.... settled on touchpal, and am liking it more and more.

Like myMobiler the best ... LOL

MyMobiler not working with the latest Vevito's Scwhartz Rom... the rom is too good for me to give up on it... gonna have to find something other than mymobiler. Soti Pocket Controller works great

I had some issues with the new ROM and connecting too. I tried connecting using the "IP Connection" option without changing the IP (just hitting connect) and it worked great after that.
