What's the best ROM to update to?

I just got my phone, and am eager to get EVDO Rev. A and GPS enabled...

I was going to install http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=26776, but I csee it says that RUNNING A 3.XX RADIO AND MUST BE USING IMCOKEMAN'S 2.31.coke UNLOCKER IN ORDER TO FLASH THIS ROM.

Like I said, I am a complete n00b, so forgive my ignorance.

Re: What's the best ROM to update to?

Heres a good start.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=17473

and before you flash triple check everything, and read carefully.. I bricked my first touch, but its ok I toook it to sprint and I said... I dont know what happend, it got stuck like this... and i got a new one.

Anyways..

I like the almost OEM sprint ROM

You get all the sprint goodies plus a little bit more. (GPS, REV-A, Cube, Sprint stuff)

Good luck, and enjoy!

Wlecome to this world, YOU WILL NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN!

EDIT: BTW, there is no "best" rom, its all personal preference, all the rom makers are great, and hard workers.

Re: What's the best ROM to update to?

i waited like four months before trying my first custom rom and now I wonder why I waited so long. I started by putting all the apps I liked on my card and every so often I'd rebuild! hard reset and load from scratch. Took about 2-3 hours. Now I run OMJ who has about half the apps I use anyway so I just flash and install a few. back up and running in less than an hour. I've even learned a little about making roms, it's not as easy as the tutorials make it out to be.

Search for the rom that seems to have apps you use. Several don't come with office for example. I use it alot so that was one factor for me. Other folks like to issue nearly stripped roms with just OS and some tweaks. Almost all are gps Rev. A now so the selectionis growing.
