Sprint Touch battery life

Can anyone please, help me with low battery life of my Sprint Touch?
Not sure what else can I look for – phone screen comes to live every two minutes or so, stay lit for little while then turn itself off just to come back to life two minutes later… I am not touching the device – it does it on its own, possessed I guess…
And is there anything else I should do to increase stand by time of my Touch with standard battery?

Re: Sprint Touch battery life

there are a few things that can cause this.

is your phone roaming? ie could be switching between native coverage and roaming. that causes the device to wake-up.

could be an app causing it to wake-up too., what apps do you have installed?

is this a stock phone or have you modified rom/registry/etc?

Re: Sprint Touch battery life

Thank you sebo for quick reply!
Phone is almost stock, only Resco Explorer and Pocket CM Keyboard installed and it look like you are right – I see the roam icon every time phone wake up from sleep.
Should I set it not to roam and stay on Sprint network all the time ?

Re: Sprint Touch battery life

yeah, go to phone options them roaming, try sprint only and if you get enough bars then good to go..

if you are right on the edge you might have set to roam only, but only do this if you are going to temporarily roam.

Re: Sprint Touch battery life

Here's a couple of .cab registry edits that may help.
The phoneapp fiz keeps the dialer from popping up randomly with some SPB apps like pocket plus, and may help in your case too. Lots easier than poking around the registry too. Unzip on your PC, copy to your SD card via activesync, on your device click on the .cab to install(to device-not storage)
Soft reset and you're done.
