Re: Why Does GPS work fine one day and not the next?

What is your PRI Version? Settings>System>Device Information>Version. It should be at 2.03_003. I was having the same issues and I ran the PPST.exe but it stayed at 1.03_003. I had to reflash the Sprint Leaked version let it customize itself then ran the PPST.exe from the windows folder on the Touch again and it upgraded it to 2.03_003. After that I have not lost it once. I also then flashed it with Derek's custom ROM ver 20.1. Very solid ROM!!

Re: Why Does GPS work fine one day and not the next?

I can tell you that the PRI changing to 2.03_003 makes no difference here. I'm running that PRI, the 60612 PRL, and the 3.37.15 radio with ppst.exe run. In every kitchen built ROM I've tried/made (about 10) I get this issue. I'll try the overnight GPS lock trick to see how that helps...not holding my breath though.

Have you tried Derek's Ver 20.1?

Re: Why Does GPS work fine one day and not the next?

I have not tried Derek's ROM. What has he done to make GPS work reliably? Is there a known registry hack?

Re: Why Does GPS work fine one day and not the next?

Mine works every time, I never soft reset to get GPS working (I did before the new DLL's or Leaked ROM, but not since then). Sometimes in can take a few minutes to lock though. I can use it all day then use it the next day with no reboots.

I DEFINITELY have seen A-GPS working but since I rolled back to a previous config that I had A-GPS working I have not seen it (I can't recall what I did first time around). Problem is though A-GPS never seemed to speed up Sat locks so it's fairly useless in it's current state even when it's working.

Re: Why Does GPS work fine one day and not the next?

I have been running the leaked sprint ROM since it was released and have no problems with GPS, I do use GPS today regularly but still no issues. At worst it will take 3-5 minutes to get a fix, but this is only if I have gone a few days without a soft reset.

This can only be true if you are constantly using it. NOBODY will get a cold lock in less than 10 secs in all conditions everytime. Even my wifes q9c that has a much better receiver and offically supported won't do that.

If the Q9c is anything like the Q9h, then it has terrible GPS performance....
