Help needed with GPS viewer

Hi all, first i got no idea if this is the right place to post, i figured it was where gps are most talked about. I flashed my device with the alltell radio about a week ago, then with OMJ's rom.

I tried the first time yesterday to get a gps lock, i was in my car, phone docked to my car mount charger, it had a really clear view of the sky, and it was a pretty sunny day.

So, i lauchned the program and had to wait about 5 min i'd say to get the first satelite to lock, at one point it was seeing a lot of them. But, i would never get past the acquiring 3d lock. Also, even tought at one point i was moving at 70 KM/hour (about 40 mph), the speed would still stay at 0.

So my 100 point question is if anyone got past that acquiring 3d positioning?

EDIT: Forgot to say that i did not try any gps navigation program yet with my touch.

yeah, im kinda having the same issue Balkar. flashed alltel from verizon, now on omj. ive only had a solid lock from gps once since i flashed a few weeks ago.

i used gps kickstart when i was on alltel rom and that at least helped the gps get recognized. nothing since though!??!

i had igo8 and it also got a lock once after gps being primed.

I used baf's today plugin on off gps application to turn on gps or off when i'm not using it. WIth that, it seems to be pretty neat. Theres a link in the updated GPS drivers tread posted up here in the stickies, you might wanna give that a try. OMJ's rom is pretty neat when it comes to gps, it already has kickstart and the updated driver gps, also has something else i forgot but its good too :P(wow totaly unaccurate lol)

Anyways, did you get past the acquiring 3d fix in gps viewer?

I usually get a 3d fix once I'm locked on. Make sure you run the PPST_blablabla_Sprint.cab (obviously not the exact name) then PPST.exe. This is what makes the big difference.

If you are using the GPS viewer try dropping these files in the windows folder. It worked for me.

May i ask in which way it helped you? Did it help you lock at all or just get the 3d fix?

without th ddls my gps viewer didn't get a lock, and now it does
