It would be interesting to see if this worked and if so, how well.

It is listed as being for the HTC Touch which is a GSM phone. The CDMA Sprint Touch is actually the HTC Vogue. This is my biggest reason for being skeptical, but I'd appreciate being proved wrong.

Re: 2400 mAh Extended Battery- $11.99

I just got mine yesterday. 11 Days to get it. I have the Sprint version - and it appears the battery cover they send with it does not appear to fit all the way - the bottom edge is about 1/4 mm too short for the phone. Today is the first day on the new battery and I am at 71% - where as I would typically now be at 50% at this time or less. So it is an improvement over stock - or atleast my 1 year old stock battery.
With the stock battey I was plugging it in during the day to chare several times - I am hoping I will be able to go a full day on this new battery.

I'd have to say that the increased thickness does not seem to functionally impact the pocketability of the phone.

Re: 2400 mAh Extended Battery- $11.99

Syclone, what did you do about the battery cover not fitting correctly? After installing the extended battery, is it possible to use the OEM cover that comes with the Sprint Vogue? Or is the new battery too thick? What was your solution to the problem?

Re: 2400 mAh Extended Battery- $11.99

I just pushed it on...it still needs about the exact thickness of the chrome trim ring (as seen looking down on the phone with the back off - to completely cover the back of the phone. - So I can see the edge of the chrome trim ring looking down on the back with the new cover on. - Seems to stay on ok....

Though I always carry it in my front pants pocket and sometimes the stock cover would become deteched while in my pocket - this one did it 1x last night as well. Only time will tell if it becomes more frequent due to it not fitting perfectly.

There is no way this battery would fit under the stock cover.

Also the replacment cover appears to match the stock color and texture - it is really only a plastic and upon close inspection lacks that "rubber" like coating.

Re: 2400 mAh Extended Battery- $11.99

Great news, Syclone. As I mentioned, my concern was that a battery for a GSM phone wouldn't properly work in a CDMA phone. Glad to be proven wrong in that regard.

I bought one of the $18 batteries and a separate (OEMish) $10 cover, but I don't have them in-hand. I'll report back my results.

Best regards,

Re: 2400 mAh Extended Battery- $11.99

Hi everyone!

I delayed a couple of weeks ordering it, but I've had the battery for about four days now!

1) The cover is BAD. It's cheap cheap cheap plastic and the fit is very poor. It over hangs a tiny bit and doesn't feel sturdy at all.

2) The battery is actually really good! I'm running WDM's wicked manila2d ROM. Before I upgraded to WDM's ROM, with a bit of surfing, bit of texting and maybe 10-15 mins talk time I would get between 8-12 hours at best. Once I upgraded to WDM's ROM, I now get about 12-20 hours. Wiith WDM's ROM and this 2200mah battery, no joke, I got 60 hours out of it and didn't even kill it! I think it was at about 8-10% left when I finally recharged. Really impressed with the battery life, it should be this way stock!

As far as living with the cheap cover/poor fit, I have a cheap (less than $5 on ebay) silicon case for the Touch that I never really loved, it just wasn't quite a tight enough fit for me to keep on using. Well, with the bigger cover on, it actually stretches the silicon tight enough for an actual perfect fit! I've since gone back to the beautiful stock cover and lame battery for day to day use, but for $8.50 I now have an awesome travel battery! Next order I make from DX I will definitely get another one just for the battery.

I highly recommend this product as long as you're ready for the suckiness of the cover.

One quick question, what is the best way for me to store the 2200mah battery if it might be a month or two until I need it? Should i run it out and leave it uncharged, or with a full charge?

Re: 2400 mAh Extended Battery- $11.99

Found a nice cover for <$8.00 shipped works well for the Sprint Touch - though it is a greyish color rather than black . It seems to have a very similar feel to the stock cover. I reccomned it.

The cover and the battery have never been used. I was going to put this up for sale on Ebay, but will let it go for $15 total including shipping. I paid around $30 for it just a couple of days ago. Sorry guys if this post is inappropriate. Moderators can delete it if this is out of place. Send me a PM if interested.
As I mentioned in another post, I purchased the 2400 battery which comes with a hump back cover and then I also purchased a separate oem-ish cover.

The battery including hump back cover comes for $20 from (eBay) perfectesell
http://stores.ebay.com/PerfectESell

The oem-ish back cover comes for $10 from (eBay) nakedcellphone
http://stores.ebay.com/nakedcellphone
These are links to their store-fronts on eBay ... you can navigate within their store to find the items I purchased.

I am very, very satisfied. The extra battery life (around 2x of stock) comes in handy as I haven't had to worry about mid-day recharging. With the oem battery, I would usually run out of jucie about 2:30 ... now I can go well into the evening without a recharge.

Best regards,
-boggsie

Re: 2400 mAh Extended Battery- $11.99

I bought the nakedcell battery with the extended cover and i can go two full days now with my regular use on it... On stand by, i noticed i could go for more than a week with moderate use (becuase i was travelling and using my company cell). My OEM battery would normally run out 2/3rds of my day and i would have to at least plug in to charge it some time during the day...

I charge my phone now every other night... Iam using OMJ's rom with the new s2u2 1.35 (to blank on screen talk) with power options pretty moderate. I have nothing but good to say about the battery and the cover... Good stuff!

(just as a quick note, i have had this battery now for almost two months)
