HAHA that was debating. Sooo many people confuse it with arguing. there weren't any "name calling" or "threats"...I know it's old news but I've just been frustrated with people who mistake it. I just want everything that my phone is capable of to be FUNCTIONAL and 100% working

Well, it's pretty obvious by now that this phone is never going to be fixed properly so why not rant about it? What are they going to do, fix it to spite me? No, there will never be any kind of settlement for those who tried to do wild, unheard of things with the phone, like watch video. It was a hollow threat that's turned into a joke. But the phone still doesn't work correctly and, given their history, only a fool would bet that the next one will work correctly.

And I have had some success! Three friends who owned HTC phones and recently bought new phones did NOT buy HTC again. Two bought iPhones and another bought a high end Nokia. Sure, it's not much, but between the 4 of us, there's at least $2000 HTC won't be seeing again.

Truth is I've been tempted to sell my touch a few times to go for the Samsung i760 phone which is blistering fast and highly optimized, however it lacks the latest chipset meaning no gps. In a way HTC does a good job of providing modern hardware to us, and I would venture to say they put these phones out long before they are ready for the market. It's good that we have such a community built around these devices to at least try to do something with the hardware we are given.
I will also say HTC is bad business for Microsoft and Windows Mobile in general. It's no wonder why Blackberries and iPhones are dominating the market. Who (beside those few of us on the boards) has the time to screw with these things?? Most people I know who buy these things end up returning them or selling them out of frustration.

Ok, onestly I think we will all be havinga Diamond soon and just foeget about this video drivers issue. We will just have to suck it up and eat it. As much as I wouldn't like to eat it, Htc forced us to eat it by releasing the Diamond.

I don't know if we will all have the diamond. People still use the apache and its been off the market for quite a while. Someone will get them to function sometime in the near future.

I won't have a diamnd because of the way HTC handled this issue. What I mean is that I will not buy another HTC product. No petty threats, just speaking with my wallet. They don't want my money? Fine with me.

well in a way i agree with what they said. Not that development will totally stop, but a ton of the "geek" crowd is going to upgrade or find another device by then. Sure the apache is still developed on, but no NEARLY as active as the titan/vogue forums. The current devices always get the most attention. And theres no guarantee that the drivers will ever be successfully ported no matter how many more months people work on it. theres no for sure on that.

i think a lot of the top ROM developers here are going to be upgrading when they come out and work on those. it happens every time a new series of device is introduced.

There are bugs in every device. That doesn't take away from the good things it has going for it. Even the iPhone, the quintessential easy-to-use device, is buggy and has its own set of issues. That doesn't mean the iPhone sucks, and on the same note, a few problems with HTC devices doesn't mean they all suck. Enough ranting. Vote with your wallet.

Trust me I dont want to eat it, But what other phone is better? I dont like Treos or BB, AND NO WAY IN HELL will I get the iphone.
