enable GPS via registry edit

Is there a way to do this? Because i hve a custom rom in my sprint touch to enable the EVDO with my carrier (non sprint) and i want to enable de GPS with out chage it. Because i dont want to take the chance of lose the EVDO

You don't have to loose EVDO if you change roms with the touch. What made you think so? What rom do you now have?
