Re: Phone turns off at 4 mins. with Kitchen ROM

Any ideas what else I can try? Thanks for your help (I'm just not ready to install another ROM after having spent 2 days setting up this one!)

Re: Phone turns off at 4 mins. with Kitchen ROM

Just tested and mine turns off in 5 minutes. It was set by the BUC script on first boot too. I haven't even entered the applet.

If I remember correctly, mine kept defaulting to 2 minutes everytime I cooked the ROM instead of my required 5 minutes (300 seconds).

The key difference between your situation and mine is that you do not seem to be able to change the settings at all. I can make changes in the applet and registry after the first boot and they take effect immediately. Any chance you could have some third party software that is keeping it changed?

It's definately not any third party software as it happens with the vanilla ROM before I've even added anything.

Re: Phone turns off at 4 mins. with Kitchen ROM

Ok I wanted to check a couple more things and then I am stumped.

The previous settings I posted were for five minute shutdown. Were you counting when you said it took only four minutes?

Go into the settings applet and set to no timeout. Does the registry now read 0 for battsuspendtimeout?

Re: Phone turns off at 4 mins. with Kitchen ROM

I see that with your edit enabled, the settings applet calls for 5 minute shutdown. That isn't what I want. I want NO shut down on external power. I changed the settings back to no shutdown, and now that registry key does read 0, but it still turns off in 4 (yes FOUR) minutes. Any thoughts? Thanks again.

Re: Phone turns off at 4 mins. with Kitchen ROM

I set mine to 0, and it does not shutdown at all. I suspect it is a bug in the kitchen itself, considering I ran into a similar bug. Good luck. Maybe someone else will chime in.

By phone turn off, do you mean just the screen or fully turn off?
I did these regedits and haven't had a problem. hope it helps.

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\battpo weroff = 0
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\screen poweroff = 0

Thank you, thank you thank you agarg!!

Yes, I meant phone turned off (like you need to press the power button to go back on).

Your regedits solved the problem!

I am one happy camper. Thank you for sharing!

Is this going to cause the phone to stay on indefinitely on battery power too?

Before these latest kitchen 3.02 ROMs, my phone would stay on, when I left it on power, but would turn off after a minute when on battery...

Now it's still turning off after four minutes...

BTW, it's not REALLY turning off at four minutes, it's just turning off the screen, which requires the power button to get it back... This kept happening while I was using Live Search and GPS, and it was leaving the keys lit! weird...
