Data and Call with REV A

Wasn't I supposed to be able to call while im on the internet with REV A ?

No... as far as i know thats a big misunderstanding people have... With Rev A If your on data, the phone will stop the data, allow u to take ur phone call and then resume that data once ur off the phone... u cant use them at the same time... thats a diffrent technology

Thats what iv read is suppose to happen... i dont know first hand cause i dont use data

no that's not a feature available, although possible if they used VOIP over rev A. we may be able to talk and use the internet when Rev B. (wiMax)? rolls out.

thats on evdv wimax is just a big hotspot but faster thats all so first is ev rev o then rev a then rev b then evdv voice and data optimize over 180 mps peak

EVDV would have given simultaneous voice and data, but to my knowledge that protocol has been scrapped. EVDV will not follow after EVDO. I don't think it is really an evolution of current EVDO standards. It was a separate proposal that never made it to production. We currently have Rev A. I haven't heard if they plan on rolling out Rev B at all. WiMAX should start showing up within a few years, so I wouldn't think they would push Rev B, but who knows.
