Restoring Live Serch

Hi guys,

Recently I have been getting the following message when trying to open live search from my today screen. I can open it directly from the programs menu but not from the today scree. Here goes the message:"The file'Live Search' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate....

I upgraded from WM 6 to OMJs WM 6.1 ROM. However, this problem occured prior to the flash.

Is there any way to restore this file. Any suggestions?

I tried editing the ql_skin_p.xml file but when I edit it, I cannot send it back b/c since its read only it won't allow me to over write.

Any thoughts?

hi,

- copy the ql_skin_p.xml and ql_skin_l.xml from phone to desktop
- edit file with a text editor on desktop.
- copy both files to phone (NOT WINDOWS DIRECTORY)!
- use phone explorer to manually copy & paste the files back into the windows directory.
- reboot device.

see if that helps.

that's the easiest way to do it without installing a third party file explorer like resco explorer.

Still not giving me access to paste it from my phone to the Windows folder. My primary problem is that I am not getting the access. The file is read only and cannot be overwritten. I cannot rename it either.

ok i found another way..

copy both xml from phone to pc.
edit files, rename them to something different like:

ql_skin_p-temp.xml
ql_skin_l-temp.xml

now copy the renamed files back to phone WINDOWS folder then rename them back to ql_skin_p.xml and ql_skin_l.xml with phone file explorer

it should merge the old skin file with the new one.

just tried it and it worked.

I will try this one. It may just be my phone but it just does not want to me th the rights to modify those files in the windows folder. I will try it and let you know.
