Battery meter going by 1% after cooking Sprint Leaked ROM

Hey all,

I noticed last night, that after cooking my own Sprint Leaked ROM, that my battery meter is (attempting) to go by 1%'s.

It doesn't seem to be entirely accurate, but maybe a step in the right direction? I saw it yesterday at 91%, then checked a few minutes later and it was at 92%, so yeah.. not entirely accurate.

I have read on a few occasions, where some folks speculate that HTC/Sprint didn't enable 1% increments in the user feedback (UI update) for precisely the reason you posted ... they didn't want to have to field questions regarding the gauge not being entirely accurate.

Re: Battery meter going by 1% after cooking Sprint Leaked ROM

Kitchen version uses no2chems battery dll. That's why you get 1% increments.

The reason you see 92% after 91% is because the battery itself is not entirely accurate. If you power off or soft-reset, the reading will be different. Happens in stock as well. IE: If you soft-reset when the battery warning comes up, it may not come back up again for a couple of mins next boot.

Just more noticeable in 1% increments. Stock battery meter on the top bar still goes at the same increments though.. 86, 66, 46.. or whatever it is.

Does this ROM have QuickMenu installed?

I ask, because QuickMenu has an option to display a battery icon which includes available or remaining charge as a percentage.

Turning this off is as easy as opening the QuickMenu options, selecting the View tab and removing the check-box for "Show battery on taskbar".

If you want to keep the % battery meter and want to turn off the OEM battery icon or display nothing in that space, you need to edit your registry.

To show nothing:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 0 (DWORD decimal)
To show just the clock:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 1 (DWORD decimal)
To show just the date:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 2 (DWORD decimal)
To show both the date and the clock:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 3 (DWORD decimal)
