S3 Cube - New Cube compatible with v3 ROMS

I hate icons.. my brain can't decipher them lol.. So i'm going to try to delete icons and have a text only cube.

you know by creating special icons for everyone you're giving yourself a lot of work. You'd b e better off providing backgrounds and icons seperate and have them learn to cut and past e the icon images onto the background images.

You're fishing for the whole village instead of teaching the village how to fish.

OR if you had the baground one solid color, you wouldn't have to worry about shading per box location.

Actually, I'd like a blank slate... I want all the buttons from the 4 sided cube,
but blank (with black background so it doesn't blind me at night) and i'd like to program them myself one by one..

and be able to put my own text in, instead of icons.

I can already do it with cubeconfig on the stock cube.. but i want the extra buttons and get rid of that 3 bar media thing.

Would that be easy to make?

What Program Path and Parameters to use w/ S3 Cube Editor will work to link Settings to a button (v3 ROM)...?

I tried Windows\StartMenu\Settings.lnk unsuccessfully...and could not find htcSettings.exe in Windows\...

Good work spunks! I use these in my rom and would like to share with everyone. These are the OEM's of the .cab's from the first post as of 7/4/08:

In the String Value "Name" you can put any text you would like in it. It will then show up in the box without a picture for the button.
Then just put the Program's path in "Path".
Soft reset and viola! You have text buttons instead of pictures on the last side.

for the slow and new comers can u provide the path to APLauncher3.. is it in hkey_current, local_machine....

Great program. I second someones suggestion to get all the icons for the existing program into PSD (or a layered) format for ease of changing the default icon positions around in the cube.

I really like the Cube. But I just can't keep any change with the Editor. I'm with the latest Sprint update. Can someone help me here?

I had to wait about two minutes to let the changes make it to the registry before reset to keep the changes made in the editor...

got a question sorry if it has been answered but if you want to switch roms on the device is there a way to backup the cube sttings so after reinstalling rom you can just load it back on. I have the cube the way I like it but have had to redo it times when switching roms....any help would be appreciated
