Re: After flashing radio woes fix for vzw
I'm not totally clear on your directions. This sounds like something I could use when helping my friend flash his XV6900.
1st, I need a Verizon phone that is not being used. (temp phone) Go to my account (his account for my friend) and change the ESN# from the current Vogue to the temp phone so that the Vogue is no longer registered on Verizon. On the temp phone, I do the *228 option 1 so that it becomes active. Do the radio upgrade on the Vogue, and then go back to the Verizon online account and switch the ESN# back to make the Vogue the active phone. Do the *228 option 1 on the Vogue so it is once again active. Is that right? If so, and it works that easily, this is very useful info.

Re: After flashing radio woes fix for vzw
Yep ... it's just that simple ... I'm not sure why it works ... but it does ... I've got 2 Apache's, 2 titan's, 1 vogue, of course ... lots of other things ... but I've always done my radio flashes with the phone not "active" on my account ... something about switching the esn online back to the flashed phone allows the planets to align and I never have to call vzw to "fix" issues ... well ... except my first vogue ... it kept forgetting the authorization code thingie ... even when I hadn't flashed anything ... but the replacement works great if I flash when it's not active ...
![]() One safety note ... make sure the phone you use "temp phone" has the same capabilities for data ... or you might still have to call vzw to get the data fixed ... but pda to pda works great Fuzzy |
