GPStoday, found something important.

Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere else but I havent seen it. If you are running GPStoday if you go into the settings there is an option to "use cell tower based positioning". I was getting no lock before I checked this box and now that I am using it I am getting a very fast lock on 5-6 sats. Please try this out and give feedback. Maybe aGPS does work on here.

Re: GPStoday, found something important.

I tried that setting yesterday morning and did not get a lock any faster than usual(tested standing in the yard). I have AGPS set to 4 in my registry.

I played with that setting too. Didn't notice a difference.

Re: GPStoday, found something important.

This morning I woke up and tried it again, and got nothing. Then I soft reset and tried again and bingo, instant lock. I never got locks this fast before. I drove about 15 miles from home, soft reset the phone again as a test, and ran gpstoday again and it locked on right away again. When you soft reset is it considered a cold startup afterwards?

I dont think so. I'd guess that it has more to do with the GPS DLLs and services restarting after a soft boot. They dont typically restart after the device falls asleep.
